At Madrid Barajas International Airport (MAD) you will find four main terminal buildings (1, 2, 3 and 4), packed with modern facilities for the 21st-century traveller. Plenty of stores (including duty free outlets), coffee shops, sitdown restaurants and a well-equipped business centre are all onsite.
There are a series of VIP lounges within Barajas International Airport. These include Amnios, Cibeles, La Revoltosa, Puerta del Sol and Tauromaquia. Tourists flying into Madrid may like to make full use of the official tourist offices at the arrivals halls of Terminals 1, 2 and 4 (tel: +91 913 058 656).
Shops, Duty-Free and Retail Outlets
Madrid Airport has good shopping facilities located in and around the departures lounge area. These shops include newsagents, gift shops, clothes shops for both men and women, tie shops and a large Warner Brothers Studio store. There are also several duty-free outlets, such as Buy Bye, Fashion & Fun, and The Shop. For jewellery, pay a visit to Les Boutiques, where iconic names include Bvlgari and Cartier. For gifts and Spanish souvenirs, try Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre or Thinking Espana.
Bars, Cafés and Restaurants
There are numerous restaurants serving Spanish food, pasta, rice dishes, grills, salads, paella and many other types of international cuisine. Top eateries include Ars, Plaza Mayor, the Food Gallery, Cafetería Colombia and Medas Ready to Eat. If you don't have time to queue or sit down for a meal, then you may like to make use of one of the many vending machines.
Currency Exchange, Communications and Banking Facilities
Currency exchange at Barajas International is on hand in Terminal 2 (American Express), while there are also lots of ATM cashpoints located throughout the airport, together with postal services and three banks. Caja Madrid is the main bank and situated on the upper level of Terminal 1, where it is open daily between 07:00 to 22:30. There is also a branch of BBVA, open Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 14:15.

Business amenities are located in the Conference and Business Centre in Terminal 2, open Monday to Friday from 08:00 until 20:00. There are also work areas and related facilities to be found within the airline business lounges. Meetings, exhibitions and presentations can be organised by onsite companies such as Auditorio, Autogiro, Goya and Manzanares.

Assistance for disabled travellers is available at Madrid Airport, although staff will always appreciate prior notice of special needs, preferably at least 48 hours. Blind and deaf passengers are catered for, together with immobile travellers and the elderly. Services include assistance all through the check-in process, until seated on the plane, and for arriving passengers, luggage can be retrieved.
Other Facilities
Other facilities at MAD include a medical centre with first aid facilities, pharmacies and nurseries located in the Terminal 1 building. There is also a team of more than 100 SkyCaps porters on hand, where required.
